that's two. lance swivels on his feet and turns to lower himself to the ground, kneeling as he waits for the hostile creature to appear. jelmo floats in front of him and despite its TRACE, a SUCKER PUNCH catches it off guard.

the impact knocks the normal-type to the ground. the INITMIDATE of the mawile is reflected back which lessens the impact of the attack. jelmo wastes no time to LOCK-ON to their target.

despite the darkness, a ZAP CANNON still finds its mark and paralyzes the steel-type. the moment the brief moment of illumination dies down is when lance throws a pokeball at the mawile, unaware that the steel-type will ultimately mega evolve to become one of his greatest assets.
